St. Athanasius
For the past month, servants of the church have presented the life of St. Athanasius and his achievements during the General Meeting!
St. Athanasius the Apostolic was the 20th Pope of Alexandria, and his most significant addition to the theology of the Christian church is that he exposed the heresy of Arius, defending the truth of the divinity of Jesus Christ, at the Council of Nicea.
For his steadfastness and his firm stand for justice, the world described him by the saying: "Athanasius against the world," or Athanasius contra mundum. We celebrate his departure on 7 Bashons, May 15 of this year. May his blessings and prayers be with us.
Next month, we will be learning about another great early father, St. John Chrysostom, St. John of the Golden Mouth, called so because he was an eloquent preacher and great public speaker.
